that the Sacred Book of the Copper Man is an anatomical treatise, and the Marvelous Collection of
Extended Succor is a medical dictionary. But what about the Carefree Treatise on the Brilliance of
Jade, the Five Happy Procedures to Obtain the Ten Thousand Treasures, and the Story of Two
Dragons Seen in a Dream? I would certainly take two treatises among the nine tomes of the Story of
the Cinnamon Tree Palace. Offerings to the God of Literature: the Treatise of Mysterious Influences
and the Treatise Counseling One Not to Be Misled by Shameless: Books -although that would restrict
the rest of my choices. The generous Larbaud might accept not to count the Verses That Can Be Read
in Both Directions as two... But if I had only one left to choose-not a moment's hesitation, number
